Information about Membership of KAREIT(Korea Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts)

KAREIT (Korea Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts)is the government association of the Korean REITs field that was authorized the establishment of nonprofit corporation, from Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, according to Article 49-1 of 「Real Estate Investment Company Act (herein refers to ‘the act’)」, on December 30 2010. This association makes efforts to advance the REITs field and heighten rights and authorities of members.

Service upon new registration

  • Publishing article about company introduction in REITs Journal; a REITs journal published by the association.
  • Providing handbooks of the Real Estate Investment Company Act and related regulations.
  • Providing free pre-training for asset management professionals (for one person) (limited to regular members), designated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

Common Services for Members

  • Inviting for free or discounting on participation fees to various events such as New Year's greetings, policy debates, member support education, seminars, and forums held by the association.
  • 5~20% discounting on participation fee for all education and domestic/overseas training courses such as 'pre-training for asset management professionals' conducted by the association
  • Introducing member companies and link to the website on the association website, and check the ‘Oath of Ethics Compliance’ (Regular member)
  • Providing member company ID where you can check various materials on the member dictionary page on the association website
  • Providing REITs comprehensive journal 「Ritz Journal」for free.(Issued quarterly/ every January, April, July, November),discountingadvertising fee
  • REITs CEO Newsletter 「REITs Market Briefing」 provided free of charge (monthly)

Service for regular members

  • Participating in the REITs System Improvement Committee, a research organization for REITs industry development. (quarterly)
  • Participating in the Association's 'Chief Meetings' for free. (Lunch or Dinner / Quarterly / Friendly Golf 1~2 times)
  • Participating in the ‘Practical Steering Committee’ and ‘Executives’ Council for Investment and Management Division’ composed with the approval of the president of the association for one working-level executive recommended by the CEO of each company. (quarterly or if necessary)
  • Participating in 'Self-regulatory Ethics Committee' and 'Compliance Officer Council' (semi-annually)
  • Participating in TFT meeting for REIT system improvement (if necessary)
  • Providing real estate investment company law handbook, REITs list and membership handbook for free.
  • Attending general meetings and granting the rights for voting and speaking.

Service for associate members / special members

  • Participating in various TF meetings such as REITs system improvement (if necessary)
  • Participating in the Association's "President Group Meeting" (Friendly golf held 1-2 times a year/ Actual expenses paid)
  • Providing handbook of Real Estate Investment Companies Act (whenever revised) for free.
  • Attending general meetings and granting the right of speaking
